 "Today's Top Stories Are..." |
CNN Student News Link to CNN Student News For approximately the first 10 minutes of class students watch CNN Student News to stay informed about current events happening in our world. They are encouraged to take notes while they watch and keep these notes in the Current Events section of their binders.
Each Friday students must write a paragraph summary of one of the events from the week. They may use their notes to help them summarize the current event. This is a weekly grade. |

 "Students, Use That Planner!" |
Important Reminders: Please continue to check your child's planner daily. Specific assignments, quiz/test dates, homework, etc. are sent home in this manner. This information is posted daily and should be recorded by the student. Students are reminded to write down the assignment posted even if they have finished it. This way if you want to know what was assigned or look over the assignment with your child, you can. It is critical that students create a habit of writing in their planners and bringing them home every day. Notes regarding student performance and discipline will be sent home thru the planner as well. Thanks for your support in this area.

 Find Out What's Happening on Team 7 - 3! |
Team 7 - 3 Weekly Newsletter Our team sends an electronic newsletter via email each week. Make sure you print the newlsetter and post it in a visible place in your home (the refrigerator door is usually a good place). Encourage your child to highlight important dates and plan ahead to prepare for project deadlines and major tests. You may also want to require your child to write these dates in his/her planner over the weekend to prepare for the upcoming week.
Middle schoolers tend to need lots of structure and sometimes require help with organization skills. Using the team newsletter and planner will help foster the kinds of work habits required to be successful in school. |
