Course Spanish IV Prerequisite: AN A or B in Spanish III or consent of the instructor. Week 1 Summer Reading Tests given Week 2 History of Spain You will be given the reader El Cid to begin outside the class reading.
Objectives: The study of Spanish at Lakeside High school will enhance your cognitive and lingustic abilities, broaden your worldview and enhance your possibilities of employment. Now at the AP level, you will move beyond the lower intermediate levels and into the intermediate high and advanced levels in speaking, listening, reading, and writing proficiency. During this year you will:
1. Create with the language paragraph- and essay-length discourse, 2. Participate in progressively more challenging conversations, 3. Communicate successfully in a variety of situations, 4. Narrate past, present, and future events using such tenses as past and present subjunctive and past, present,perfect,future, and conditional compound tenses, 5. Express feelings, opinions, and hypotheses using past and present subjunctive constructions, 6. Improve your reading skills, 7. Resolve cultural conflicts, and, 8. Be ready for studying Spanish at the University level.
