|
|
| Govenor Sonny Perdue and the Department of Education have called for Georgia educators to look into ways to ensure that our graduation rate increases. This has become a priorty across our state. The position of graduation coach was developed and implemented so that each high school in Georgia has a person whose sole obligation is to ensure that those students who are at risk, but motivated to graduate, have the opportunity to work with a coach to see that they succeed. |

1) Those students who are 4th year high school students but still juniors. These students typically have 14-15.5 credits so their chance of recovery is great! 2) Those students who have failed one or more sections of the Georgia High School Graduation Test. 3) Those students who are second year freshmen or as they are now named by the state of Georgia "freshmores." 4) Freshmen who scored below the 25th percentile on the Language Arts or Mathematics section of the CRCT as 8th graders. |
