Class Requirements/Information |
1. Folder or Notebook---You must have a folder with pockets or prongs OR a 3-ring notebook with 20 sheets of notebook paper attached. There will be 2 announced notebook checks during the nine-weeks. Notebook grades are double-weighted, with a maximum of 200 possible points.
2. Class Preparedness---Students must bring a Pen or Pencil with their notebook to class every day. Students who repeatedly report to class unprepared will be assigned an alternative assignment and sent to another teacher's classroom to complete.
3. All FACS tests and worksheets are open-book, with the exception of the FACS Pretest and Posttest. Textbooks are not assigned to individual students and must remain in the classroom. Textbooks may be checked out when work needs to be made up. FACS test grades, notebook grades, and special projects grades are double-weighted, with a maximum of 200 points possible for each. All other grades are daily grades, with a maximum of 100 points possible for each.
4. Eighth grade will have a minimum of 4 preparation food labs. The final food lab, the students will plan, prepare, and serve a simple meal and set the table. All students must pass the "Kitchen Safety and Sanitation" test before being allowed to participate in the food preparation laboratories.
