In my class this year, the focus will be, language arts, social studies, and organization. In language arts, the focus will be reading to learn instead of learning to read. We will be reading numerous novels and short stories. The students will be part of reading clubs that will meet once a week during class to discuss their chosen novel. Writing will be a priority, and we will focus on expository,persuasive,and creative writing. Each student is expected to read for at least 30 min. each night and have their reading log signed by an adult.
Our Mission: Our mission here at Bel Air is to provide our student with meaningful instruction in a safe school environment. Since students have different styles of learning, I will vary my teaching and activities to meet each student's individual style.
