2009-2010 looks to be one full of several fun and exciting changes. This year I will be introducing the NEW FACS Curriculum. Below you will find the new units with a brief description.

• Family, Community and Leadership ~ Students will develop skills, including teamwork and leadership, to become successful members of families, workplaces and communities.
• Early Childhood Education ~ Students will develop skills in order to become responsible parents or care givers.
• Careers ~ Students will identify interests & aptitudes to create a career plan, emphasizing FACS careers.
• Consumer & Finance ~ Students will understand why money and time management is important, how to set and meet financial goals while providing for the needs of the individual and family.
• Interior Design ~ Students will understand & apply how basic human needs & lifestyles determine housing choices. Students will also learn ways to create, maintain & adapt a comfortable, safe & “green” living space.
• Fashion Design ~ Students will understand & apply how clothing & textile choices affect individuals & society.
• Food, Nutrition, & Wellness / Culinary Arts ~ Students will learn why diet and exercise are important for a healthy lifestyle. Students will develop skills needed for successful food preparation.
