Newsletter for the week of March 17-21 |
Reading: We will finish reading the novel Henry Huggins. The skill for the week is narrative elements. Our vocabulary words will be heartbroken and quivery. We will have the final test on Wednesday. The students will have to match the vocab words, answer comprehension questions, list the narrative elements, and answer an essay question. The students will also take the AR test. We will work on character sketches Thursday and Friday.
Math: The class will work on chapter 13. We are learning about solid figures and nets this week. The chapter 13 test will be Thursday. We will begin fractions on Friday.
Social Studies: We are beginning Chapter 9 in our Social Studies book. We will learn about “Creating a Nation.” We will study the Articles of Confederation and the Constitutional Convention. The students did a great job on their flip books for Chapter 8!:)
English: We will work on Daily Language. We are beginning to practice for CRCT.
Spelling: Packets are due on Wednesday. Students should be completing the packets in cursive. The test will be Friday.
Notes for the Week:
• Thank you to Mrs. Ellison for sending in our St. Patrick’s Day treats! The cupcakes were delicious.
• Hannah is our star student for the week.
• T-Shirt orders for Field Day are due by Tuesday.
• March 19th Report Cards, AR and AM Reports go home.
