PERSONAL FITNESS (PEH 201)

Personal fitness is the only physical education class that is required for graduation. During the semester we will walk/jog almost daily; We will also learn the principles and benefits of fitness programs. There will be approximately 12 tests during the semester. We will also have skills test every other week. Our minimal cardiovascular goal is that everyone will be able to run/walk two miles in 28 minutes or less. Students are always encouraged to do much better.

If there is any reason you may not be able to complete the physical portion of this class, you will need to see the counselors to reschedule or pick up an adaptive physical education form. Our dress policy is as follows. We do not require a uniform but expect students to change and wear appropriate shorts, shirt and athletic shoes. All students are issued individual physical education lockers. All personal belongings must be locked up every day in your locker. If you leave personal items out, you may be written up for failure to follow directions. Book bags may be left in the gym if they do not fit in your locker. Your are required to lock up all valuables daily in your locker. Do not give your combination to anyone. Do not share lockers. Do spin your combination lock and pull on it before leaving the locker room. Defective locks should be reported and will be replaced.
If you are tardy for class and the cages have already been locked, you will have to make that day up after school or use a free day.
Check with me before staying late in another class making up work or a test. If you are late, you can't dress out and must make the day up after school on a Wednesday.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:
Monday through Thursdays: Cardiovascular activities. Some fitness testing will be completed on these days.
Fridays: Fitness testing, written tests

Students may use only their hand written notes on all tests.
