Social Studies 1. Create an A to Z pioneer life book. Based on what we have learned in class about what life was like on the frontier, make a book describing pioneer life. Make sure your book has an eye catching cover and illustrations for each page. An example would be: A is for the adventures that the pioneers had.
2. Create a biography of a famous pioneer we studied about during our Westward Expansion. Some examples would be Lewis and Clark, Daniel Boone, etc. You must research the pioneer and complete a two page biography of their life. You must also include a bibliography with your biography. Once you have finished your biography, complete a character sketch (or picture) of the pioneer to be turned in with your paper. ***YOU MAY NOT RESEARCH THE SAME PERSON THAT YOU DO FOR THE WAX MUSEUM*** |

You want some of your game pieces to be easy and some to be more challenging. Make sure that you include up to how many players can play at one time, and write out very detailed instructions. This game must be a game that can actually be played by your classmates in class. 2. Solve the following Brain Teasers. Include with your solution an explanation of how you solved it. Katie went to visit her friends in their apartment building. She took the elevator to the 4th floor to Randy's apartment. She met Randy and they walked down 2 flights of stairs to Chrissy's apartment. Then Chrissy, Randy, and Katie got in the elevator. They went up and passed 2 floors to meet Scott at his apartment. Scott lives 1 floor below the top floor. What floor is on the top of the building? Charlie, Kelly, Valerie, and Tom each chose something different to eat at the barbecue. They had a choice of pork, hamburgers, chicken, and veggie burgers. Two people chose the food whose name begins with the same letter as the person choosing it. Charlie picked something with a bone to chew. Both girls ate burgers. What did each person pick to eat? Tara put 10 pairs of socks in the laundry, but when they came back 2 socks were missing mates. Now she has an odd number of purple and green socks, but has only 1 complete pair of green socks. She has 1 more pair of blue socks than red socks. She has more green socks than purple socks.
