One More Lap to Go! |
Can you believe that we quickly approaching the finish line? What a great time we have had at the Sturkey Super Speedway! I have learned so many wonderful things from you all. I am very proud of the hard work that I have seen in the classroom thus far. I am sure that there is more greatness to see for the remainder of the year. Please keep up the excellent work and remember...it is always great to go ABOVE AND BEYOND!
As we approach the finish line, I am sure that you are exhausted from all the work that you have done. But, putting forth that last push of energy will help ensure that you finish the race on top. You can do! Do not give up. Take a deep breath and finish this last lap with confidence, energy, and pride. You will have the entire summer to rest up and reenergize for the next race. Racers, the end is almost here!

About Mrs. Sturkey |
This is my third year teaching 3rd grade at Martinez Elementary. I have truly enjoyed my experience working in this wonderful environment. What a great family we are here!
But most importantly, I absolutely love teaching! It is beyond doubt a passion of mine. Being able to work with students on a daily basis and see them learn and grow is amazing. I would not trade it for the world. I became a teacher because I knew that in some way I would impact the lives of many children. What a joy teaching has been!
A few facts about Mrs. Sturkey:
* I am married to a wonderful man named Raymond.
* We celebrated the arrival of our first son, Jeremiah, on January 8!!
* I have a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from the
University of West Georgia.
* We have a Maltese named Winston.
* I love Macaroni and Cheese and chocolate.
* My favorite colors are pink and green.
* I love to listen to music.
* Away from school, I love to dance and sing...well, we do this in the
classroom, too!

Homework |
| Homework is given so students can practice skills taught in the classroom. Students will be given homework on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Students are expected to write their assignments in their student planners daily. Parents should sign the planner after it has been checked that all assignments were completed. Students who do not complete or return their homework to school the day it is due will do it during study hall. |
