My name is Mrs. Sturkey and I am the head ring master for the Sturkey's Super Carnival. I will be the one to guide and direct as you experience the thrills of the carnival. But most importantly, as we discover new things together, I will be looking for some more excited and willing ring masters to help me make this carnival a huge success.
The Language Arts tent will expose you to stories and words that help increase your communication skills.
The Math tent will offer magical numbers and equations that will take you to new heights just like the acrobats.
The Social Studies tent will take you down memory lane and expose you to our rich history.
Within the Science tent, you will discover fascinating facts about our Earth and its composition.
So are you ready to have a fun time? I sure am! Here we go...

About Mrs. Sturkey |
This is my fifth year teaching 3rd grade at Martinez Elementary. I have truly enjoyed my experience working in this wonderful environment. What a great family we are here!
But most importantly, I absolutely love teaching! It is beyond doubt a passion of mine. Being able to work with students on a daily basis and see them learn and grow is amazing. I would not trade it for the world. I became a teacher because I knew that in some way I would impact the lives of many children. What a joy teaching has been!
A few facts about Mrs. Sturkey:
* I am married to a wonderful man named Raymond. He is an art teacher in Richmond County.
* We have a son, Jeremiah Jameson, who is 19 months old. He is amazing! He is such a fun and smart little boy. He can count to ten even though he likes to skip four. Also, we have a little girl who was born this past April. She is a wonderful addition to our family. She is happy all the time!
* I have a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from the University of West Georgia. I am currently in the graduate program at Augusta State University. I am excited about the opportunity to grow even more in my profession.
* I love Macaroni and Cheese and chocolate.
* My favorite colors are pink and green.
* Away from school, I love to dance and sing...well, we do this in the classroom, too!

Homework |
| Homework is given so students can practice skills taught in the classroom. Students can be given homework on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Students are expected to write their assignments in their student planners daily. Parents should sign the planner after it has been checked that all assignments were completed. Students who do not complete or return their homework to school the day it is due will complete it at some point during the school day. |
