WELCOME TO LHS BUSINESS EDUCATION DEPARTMENT!!
The Secretary's Commission on Achieving Necessary Skills (SCANS) was asked to examine the demands of the workplace and whether our young people are capable of meeting those demands. What they found was disturbing: more than half our young people leave school without the necessary skills required to find and hold a good job.
The future of our students depends on high-performance work organizations and a highly competent workforce. The Lakeside Business Deaprtament realizes that workplace skills are defined, not just something "you just pick up." We assess and increase our students' workplace readiness in critical thinking and technology skills. Our students are introduced to the knowledge needed to succeed in post-secondary education and the workforce. |
