| Welcome to Our Kindergarten Day! |

|
Kindergarten is a place where we learn to work through "play". We begin our day signing in, choosing lunch and getting our supplies ready for the day. We say the pledge, sing the National Anthem, say the school mission chant, and plan our successful day. We begin our day in large group, then move to small group workshops, where we work with the teachers or independently. We work cooperatively each day with our K friends. We are reading easy books now that we are learning the letter sounds. Many of us can count to 100 and we count everyday sometimes by ones, fives, or tens. We are learning our K skills and earning feathers for our headbands. Please help us practice. |

| Reading is fun! |

Reading Inventory Reading is such an important life skill. Research says if children are read to at an early age they will be better readers. Please read a book to us daily or let us read to you. It's easy to earn a feather for reading 15 books in November. |
