| Welcome to Our Kindergarten Day! |

Daily Schedule Kindergarten is a place where we learn to work through "play". We begin our day signing in, choosing lunch and getting our supplies ready for the day. We say the pledge, our school mission chant, and plan our successful day. We begin our day in large group, then move to small groups and independent practice. We love learning and should have learned at least one new thing each day since kindergarten started. Just ask us...we love to perform. In January, we will continue blending letter sounds into words using "a" and "i" and add "e" as our sticky glue. Some of us are reading and others are right on the brink. We will learn about winter and animals that love the cold. We will construct our own igloo with your help. Check out our learning skills websites and skill builders in the left top corner. |

| Reading is fun! |
|
Reading Inventory Reading is such an important life skill. Research says if children are read to at an early age they will be better readers. Many children have participated in the Book It! reading program since October and received their free pizza coupons from Pizza Hut. They can continue earning a certificate, tally points, and a Pizza Hut coupon this month by reading 15 books. When your child reads 15 books, don't forget to send in their signed reading inventory. |
