Lori Tucker’s Third Grade Class Newsletter Monday, May 12, 2008
Dear Parents, Thanks for your calls and e-mails about my accident Friday morning. I am still a little sore, but I am fine. We used it as a GOOD LESSON about the importance of wearing seatbelts. I missed the field trip, but Mrs. Stewart went with our class. We had several parent volunteers, and it was a great success. Thanks to all of you.
Math: We have finished Chapter 22, and we will have the test over this chapter tomorrow. For the rest of this week and next week, we will review multiplication and division facts. There are several students in our class who do not know these facts. The 4th grade teachers will expect them to know these. If your child is having trouble, PLEASE invest in a set of flashcards and practice this summer.
Reading: We will not have a reading story or spelling words this week or next week. We are reading, The Indian in the Cupboard, together in class. We are also reading book sets with small groups.
Social Studies / Science / Health: We will review several different topics during the next two weeks. All grades will be taken from classroom participation on small projects. If your child wishes to participate in the extra credit project, “Designer Genes,” it is due on Friday of this week.
Important Dates: May 19th: Field Day: 1:15-2:45 20th: Honor’s Night: 4th and 5th grades 21st: Perfect Attendance Celebration: 9:30 End of the Year Celebration for our class: 2:30 22nd: Last day for students 28th: Report Card Pick-up at the school.
Thanks, and have a FANTASTIC week! Lori Tucker
