VISUAL ART
Mrs. Spires has a BFA from UGA in Scientific Illustration followed by over 10 years professional experience in graphic design. She has been teaching visual art for over seven years. Creating artwork, music, singing, handbells, basketball, and water-skiing are her favorite ways to play. She is happily married and has two sons for inspiration!

"I believed in the importance of incorporating visual art in education so much that I added on to my degree for certification to teach art. Our classes focus on the elements and principals of visual art, along with its cultural and historical influences. We work to incorporate core subject concepts into our creations. My graphic design background fuels my emphasis on technology and the effective use of basic art concepts to make products more visually effective. Visual art is another way that students can express their individual perspective of the world based on their own life experiences, so I encourage them to use their own creative license within their work."
