Smile! 4th grade is GREAT! |
Fourth grade is the time when students begin using the basic skills acquired in the primary grades to further their individual learning. They now read to learn instead of learn to read. Students are expected to take more personal responsibility for their materials, assignments, and homework.
Students develop and share a variety of presentations to include oral and written book reports, small group and individual PowerPoint presentations using the computer lab and wireless laptop lab, a Science Fair project, and a Revolutionary War Hero project in Social Studies.
Fourth grade students increase their ability to problem solve in the content areas through simulations, cooperative group projects in addition to individual work. They continue to work on the reading strategies introduced in the primary grades in order to be able to read more complex and challenging texts.
The fourth grade will present a new grade level play this year. Each student will be a part of this play!! Students have the opportunity to serve on the student council, as Bronco Buddies to younger students, and as postal workers in our school post office.
