We are looking forward to working with each of you. It is essential that we work together from the very beginning. A successful school year for your child will depend upon the combined efforts of home and school. We shall always be happy to talk with concerned and involved parents.
It is very important that we keep each other informed. The following will be used to keep you informed of your child's progress:

Mid-Nine Weeks' Progress Reports

Parent/Teacher Conferences
The Second grade curriculum includes work in Reading, Writing, English, spelling, Math, Science, Health, and Social Studies. In addition to the regular classroom activities, students will be involved inmany other exciting opportunities such as:
* Special classes:
- PE
- Music
- Computer Lab
- Media Center
- Guidance
- Art
* Field Trips
- Various Theatre and Fine Arts Performances
- Storyland Theatre Play
- Callaway Plantation
* Second Grade Musical
- Performance on stage with songs and costumes
* Projects
- Flat Stanley
- Curriculum Fair
- Animal Project
- Art Show
* Participate in Accelerated Reader
- 10 points minium required each nine weeks.
Students who meet the goal are rewarded with special lunches,
treats and other rewards.
