Lunch Program

Students' have access to a lunch meal (and breakfast meal) each day; and are encouraged to participate in the school nutrition program. A lunch may be purchased for $1.75 (regular) or $.40 (reduced). If the student wishes to purchase a second lunch, it is sold at the adult price of$3.00. Breakfast may be purchased for $.75 (regular) and $.30 (reduced). Again, a second breakfast is sold at the adult price of$1.00. Milk is sold daily for $.40. The menu can be viewed on Columbia County's web page - www.ccboe.net These meals are nutritious and well balanced to ensure that the student's requirements are met.
Charges - Students should not charge MORE THAN FIVE (5) MEALS.
The Columbia County Board of Education has implemented a charge procedure for the School Nutrition Program. Parents will be notified in writing by the school when their child or children have charged 10 mea1s. Parents are expected to make immediate payment on the account so the child may continue to participate in the school meal program. If payment is not received, the child will be denied meals until the account is paid in full and a positive balance is established to allow purchase of meals. Parents are expected
to provide their child with meals until charges are paid. Failure of parents to provide a \; meal or money for a meal can result in referral to the Department of Family and "
Children's services for neglect of parental responsibility. Free and reduced lunch application forms are available in the cafeteria manager's office at any time during the school year. This information is kept in strict confidentiality. Participants' names are not known by teachers or administration.
Jumbo lunches are available for $1.25 more per lunch. The student must pay this in line. A jumbo lunch is an extra serving of the entree only. Sack lunches from home are acceptable. IF YOU VISIT AT LUNCH, PLEASE DO NOT BRING FAST-FOOD LUNCHES. THIS VIOLATES OUR FREE LUNCH PROGRAM AND JEOPARDIZES IT FOR OTHER STUDENTS.
