Teachers of all grade-levels are invited to cooperatively and flexibly schedule media skills instruction with the media specialist. Planning for information skills classes is always available upon teacher request at what is determined to be a class’s point of need. Anytime a group of students approaches a unit of content-area study involving any aspect of information skills instruction—outlining, taking notes, using tables of contents and indices, using print or online reference sources such as dictionaries or encyclopedias, doing research on a particular topic—is a great time for teacher and media specialist to collaborate in planning media skills instruction.
