For the past 26 years, Michael A. Katterjohn has taught in several states including Illinois and Utah. He has taught at all levels from 5th grade through graduate level students. More recently, Mr. Katterjohn taught at Davidson Fine Arts School for 10 years and has finished his second year at Greenbrier High School.
Mr. Katterjohn has been playing percussion for 40 years. He has been teaching percussion at ASU for the past 12 years. He has played with the Augusta Symphony, Augusta Choral Society and the Augusta Opera as well as numerous churches in the area. He plays drum set weekly for his church in Evans, Georgia.
Mr. Katterjohn has three arrangements published through Genevox Publishing Co. for church orchestra: “Worship Chorales,” “Praise to the Lord Almighty,” and “Christ the Lord is Risen Today.”. He has done extensive arranging for marching bands, drum lines and concert bands. In addition to writing music, he wrote the percussion chapter for the book, “The Instrumental Resource for Church and School,” published by Lifeway Church Resources.
He lives in Augusta with his beautiful wife Sandy, and six children: Nicole, Daniel, Naomi, Julia, Ansley, and Paul.
