Internet |
All media center computers have the capability of connecting to the Internet. In order for a student to use the Internet at school, he or she must have a parental permission form signed annually by his or her parents. Once this form has been completed, it will be kept in the student's record.
Through our web site, students and teachers may access resources such as Georgia Career Information System, WorldBook Online, and netTrekker. Select "Online Resources" at the left to view a complete list of what is available. In addition, the state of Georgia provides all of its public schools with access to GALILEO. GALILEO (Georgia Library Learning Online) is a project sponsored by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. A World Wide Web based database server, GALILEO offers access for participating institutions to databases indexing thousands of periodicals and scholarly journals, particularly the EBSCOhost databases. Other resources available through GALILEO include SIRS Researcher, the Literary Reference Center, the History Reference Center, encyclopedias, business directories, and government publications. Access to public databases is available to any user. Click on "Online Resources" on your left for a link to GALILEO. Students will have to obtain a password from their teachers or media specialists to use GALILEO at home.
