NEW - Criminal Background Checks for Parents going on Overnight Trips Click here for consent form Columbia County now requires parent chaperones going on an overnight field trip to have criminal background checks. Parents must complete the Consent Form (click above)and have it notarized in person (most school secretaries are also notaries) and return it to the teacher with a $5 money order made out to the Columbia County Sheriff's office. Note: Criminal background checks are only required for OVERNIGHT trips.

UPCOMING FIELD TRIPS: Click for Driftwood web page 5th graders ONLY - DRIFTWOOD/CUMBERLAND ISLAND Through this field trip, students are given opportunities to experience hands-on science activities in a natural coastal environment. Students will visit a coastal barrier island, study coastal fisheries, and investigate the salt marsh.
Due to limited space, we will be dividing the schools into two separate trips:
Oct. 28-30
Nov. 11-13
Cost of trip: $145 (same cost per parent chaperone)
Two Horizons teachers will accompany each trip. If you are interested in being a parent chaperone, please email Ms. Schulz ASAP: heidi.schulz@ccboe.net There is limited space available, so please let us know right away!
Both trips will follow the same itinerary, which will be sent home along with permission forms soon. Permission forms and payment are due no later than Sept. 30.
*Please note: We would like every student to participate. If financial assistance is needed, limited funds are available. Please contact your Horizons teacher. |
