Our automated media center offers over 9000 books for student and teacher checkout. Most of our books are part of the Accelerated Reader computerized testing program.
The Grovetown Elementary Channel 10 News announcement channel originates in the media center. Announcements of interest to teachers and students run constantly on channel 10 during the day.

Policies
Kindergartners begin the year checking out one book per week as soon as their classroom teacher feels they are ready. First graders may check out one book at a time. Second through fifth graders may check out two books at a time. Fourth and fifth graders may also check out magazines.
Students come to the media center one time per week as a class and individually as often as their classroom teacher allows.
A student is responsible for any book which is lost or damaged while checked out to him or her. The student will not be allowed to check out any more books until fines are paid.
We currently have access to all Accelerated Reader quizzes. Students select books at their reading level, read the books, and then take the computerized quizzes. They earn points based on the number of questions answered correctly. Each teacher sets point and book level goals for individual students every quarter.
