Our fully automated media center contains reference materials, videos & DVDs,and AV equipment as well as over 7,000 books.
Almost half of our books, both nonfiction and fiction, are included in the Reading Counts Reading Progam which is installed on all computers in the school.
Reading Counts is a computer program which allows students to take a quiz on the contents of a book to prove they read and understood it. Books are assigned a reading level and a certain number of points based on difficulty and length.

The media center is open to individuals and class visits from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM each school day.
Students may check out two books and/or back issues of magazines at a time for two weeks. Books may also be renewed twice. There is a fine of $.05 a day for overdue materials. Students may not check out more books until overdue items are returned and all fines are paid.
Teachers may schedule class visits and equipment checkout in the media center schedule notebook found at the circulation desk. Teachers are asked to discuss plans for class visits and research assignments with Ms Ristroph ahead of time. |
