Welcome to Lakeside High School-Home of the Panthers! Lakeside opened in 1988 to alleviate overcrowding at Evans High School. Since our inception, Lakeside has excelled both academically and athletically. Our school has been recognized as a Georgia School of Excellence three times (1993, 1999, and 2005). We have also been recognized by Newsweek Magazine as being in the top 1% of all high schools nationwide based upon our Advanced Placement Program participation. In 2009, we were ranked number 307 out of 27,000 high schools!
Our Advanced Placement program is extremely strong and we offer 18 different AP courses. Our Scholastic Aptitude Test Scores for 2009 averaged 1600. This is well above county (1500), state (1460), and national (1509) averages.
For the 2009-2010 school year, we will continue to maintain our vision of R3=Rigor, Relevance, and Relationships. Our staff is committed to seeking continuous improvement by working on School Improvement Teams based on a review of data and research. We will continue to study and implement programs that challenge our students, make the content relevant to the students' lives, and we will strengthen our relationships with the students to better support them as they prepare for life after high school. |

Our Athletic program ended the 2009 year ranked #3 out of 81 AAAA high schools in Georgia. We had a very successful year! We field teams in cross country, volleyball, football, competitive cheerleading, baseball, basketball, softball, track, soccer, swimming & diving, golf, tennis and lacrosse. We have the best Student/Athletes around! |

We are blessed with a tremendous amount of parental support. Our organizations include the PTSO, the Band Boosters, the Chorus Boosters, and the LHS JROTC Boosters. Thanks to these support groups, we can offer an instructional and extracurricular program that is second to none. |
