LMS is a Title I Distinguished School! |
|
Lakeside Middle School has been named by the Georgia Board of Education as a Title I Distinguished School! Distinguished schools meet or exceed adequate yearly progress (AYP) for three or more consecutive years and have not been on the Unsafe Schools Choice Option (USCO) list within the last two years! According to State Superintendent of Schools Kathy Cox, “These schools and school districts are rising to the challenge. They are doing a great job getting more students to meet academic goals.”

Position statement: It is agreed that, students should have a foundation of responsibility, self-control, respect, and tolerance. By infusing the character commitment terms throughout our curriculum, our goal is that these qualities will manifest themselves in the daily lives of our students, teachers, parents, and community. Teachers nominate students each grading period for designation as Character Commitment Students. These students are recognized at a breakfast held in their honor each nine weeks. Parents are encouraged to attend these celebrations.
