Physical Education Visit Mrs. Harrell's Website An active person is usually a healthy person. That’s what we believe at North Columbia. But to be active requires some basic skills. We work on these skills with the children so that they can continue to live an active life even after elementary school. |

Music Visit Mrs. Dibling's Website Music is a universal language in which all cultures can join together to blend into a productive society. Research studies have shown that students who are involved in musical activities perform better academically. The music classes at North Columbia work on improving academic skills as well as musical skills. Music class allows students to express themselves through playing instruments, singing and movement. At North Columbia Elementary, I use the Orff method to involve students in music so that they have a greater understanding of musical concepts. Students gain self-confidence through being able to express themselves and enhance their talents. |

 Mrs. Morris |
Art Visit Mrs. Morris' Website My motto is: Everything you need to know you learn in the art room: Speak kindly about a classmate's created artwork. Share the materials with others. Be kind to yourself if all your pictures don't turn out...it happens to all artists. Keep an open mind about different kinds of art...something unforseen may become part of your expression some day. There's no right or wrong way to color your picture...honor your creative voice - it's what makes you unique! *Parts of this are taken from Shawn Costello's "Everything I need to know I learned in the Art Room." |
