Fifth grade is a year full of learning experiences unlike any other! It is a transitional year in preparation for middle school. Our expectations of the students are set high in achieving vital organizational skills, responsibility, and respect for others. These skills show maturity and independence that are necessary in middle school. Students in fifth grade are privileged to have several teachers guiding them along their way. The teachers not only guide them academically, but also socially as they are maturing into young adults. We encourage them to be responsible citizens in our school by hosting good behavior celebrations every so often. We also enjoy several field trips throughout the year that enhance the fifth grade curriculum. In reading and writing, the students complete novel studies and publish many modes of writing throughout the year with their assigned teacher. |
