River Ridge’s Before and After School Program Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in River Ridge’s Before and After School Program. We are pleased to offer before and after school care for our students here at River Ridge Elementary. With great pleasure, our staff has accepted this responsibility to serve our school community. We will make every effort to ensure that your child has a safe and enjoyable experience while in our care.

Hours and Days of Operation
The Before School Program opens at 7:00am each morning. Students are dismissed from the program at 8:00am. The After School Program begins at 3:45pm and ends at 6:00pm each evening. The programs follow the same calendar as the school system. We are closed during scheduled school holidays, Teacher Work Days, and when the school is closed due to weather. However, on the two county assigned Early Release Days students will be provided care until 6:00pm.
Payments
There is not a required registration fee for either of the programs. The weekly fee for the Before School Program is $15.00 per child per week. The weekly fee for the After School Program is $45.00 per child per week. Please make payments in the form of check or money order. Be sure to label payments as Before School or After School so the teacher will be sure to send it to the correct school account. Payments are accepted on a weekly basis. Payment is due every Thursday for the week before your child attends the program. Payment for the entire week is required whether your child attends one day or all five days. If you prefer to pay monthly, payments must be made by the 1st.
Students whose accounts are one week past due will receive a written notice. Any accounts that are two weeks past due will result in the child being withdrawn from the program. We also provide a “drop in” service for $5 a day for the Before School Program and $10 a day for the After School Program. However, if your child attends the program every week for 2 or more days they are not considered a drop-in and will need to pay the entire amount for the program.
Returned Check Fee
There is a $25.00 fee for all returned checks.
Emergencies
If we have an emergency involving your child, we will follow normal emergency procedures. If your child is injured seriously, we will apply first aid, call 911, and contact you. Be sure to keep us updated as to changes in phone numbers, emergency contacts, and any other pertinent information.
Supplies
Students should bring all books, paper, pencils, and other necessary supplies to complete homework each day. The After School Program does, however, keep an ample amount of supplies on hand should a child forget. Children are not permitted to leave the After School Program and return to their classrooms at any time.
Homework
We encourage all students to work on their homework assignments while they are attending the After School Program. There is a certified teacher that will help the students understand any homework assignment.
Discipline
The same rules set forth in the Columbia County Board of Education Elementary School Code of Student Conduct and the River Ridge Elementary Parent-Student Handbook will be enforced.
Disruptive and/or inappropriate behavior may result in the student being withdrawn from the program at the discretion of the principal or director. Refunds will not be given in the event of a student’s dismissal from the program.
Medication
Medication will not be dispensed during the After School program.
Pick-up Procedures
Students must be signed out daily by an adult listed on the student’s enrollment form. We will not allow students to leave with anyone not listed without written notice from the parent. Students must be picked up by 6:00 PM or a late charge of $1.00 per minute after 6:00 PM will need to be paid.
Withdrawal from the Program
If a student is going to be withdrawing from the program please notify the director one week prior to the date of withdrawal.
