Accelerated Reader
Check out the AR Quiz Store for All Available Tests
The Accelerated Reader is an educational program that some teachers at SCE incorporate into the language arts curriculum. Students are encouraged to read books that are appropriate for their reading level and interests. After reading the book, students can take a comprehension test in the classroom or computer lab. New this year: We now have access to ALL of the AR tests available. This means that students can take tests on books we may not have in our media center. They can read books from home, the public library, or the bookstore, etc. If there is an AR test available, we have it, and students can take the tests here at school!

SCE Library Media Center Policies and Procedures
The library media center is open each school day from 8:00a.m.-4:00p.m. Students are welcome to visit the library media center throughout the school day with a library pass from their classroom teacher to borrow books, to view an educational internet site, complete a classroom project, browse through our monthly magazines, or just READ.

Students are expected to be quiet and courteous while visiting the school library media center.

Pre-kindergartners, Kindergartens and First graders may borrow one book. Second through Fifth graders may borrow two books. All students are welcome to return and borrow additional books throughout the school week with permission from the classroom teacher.

Students with overdue library books will not be able to borrow additional books until the overdue books are returned or the replacement price is paid. Overdue notices are given to the classroom teacher to be sent home. When the library book is 3 to 4 weeks overdue, a notice from the school library media center will be sent home.
