Due to the large number of students who will try out for the 2009 CMS Track team, it is imperative that we limit the number of students who make the team through the use of qualifying criteria. The students will be scored after observing and timing a one mile run and various sprinting distances. Additionally, the students’ attendance during tryouts will be key in deciding who will make the 2009 track team.
If you do not make the 2009 CMS Track team, please remember that there are always many other opportunities to participate in athletic events at Columbia Middle School. Additionally, the Columbia County Parks and Recreation and the YMCA offer various athletic opportunities throughout the year for you to participate in.
We will be posting the members of the 2009 CMS Track team on the Columbia Middle School website (www.ccboe.net/teachers/Brock_Jennifer/home.html) on the last day of tryouts. Additionally, the list of team members will be posted on the front door of the school from 6:00pm that day until 7:00am the next morning.
