HCA 201/202 Introduction to Health Science Technology Education An introductory course designed to stimulate interest in health related careers and provide the foundation for further education in the health science technology fields. In this course, we will cover the history of healthcare, medical terminology, employee and patient safety, infection control, vital signs, and CPR/First Aid. Students will also be eligible to receive certification in CPR and First Aid. |
HCA 209/21- First Responder An introductory course for those interested in Emergency medical careers. Emergency training for trauma and medical conditions will be taught with skills demonstrated in a simulated lab environment. Additional community resource education will be provided in the classroom from EMS speakers. Students will be eligible to take the National Registry First Responder test for certification.

| About the instructor |
I have been a registered nurse for 8 years and have previously taught Health Science Technology in 2002-2003. I recently completed a Bachelor's in Education from ASU and am currently working on my certification in HSTE from University of Georgia. I have lived in Augusta most of my life and feel very honored to be teaching at both GHS and EHS! I am at EHS for 1st-3rd periods and at GHS for 5th-6th periods.
