Printing and publishing is one of the most important industries in the world. In fact, our lives are filled with so many printed items that it's easy to overlook the industry behind them.
FACTS and FIGURES (U.S. Dept. Of Labor) -Of first twenty major industries, printing and publishing ranks first in number of establishments with over 53,000. -Ranks first in dollar volume of shipment. -Ranks fifth in total dollar payroll. -Now needs 60,000 new employees through the year 2010.
COURSE DESCRIPTION GRA 213-214 Grade 9-12 Introduction Exploratory course encompassing the Offset Lithography Printing Industry. GRA 215-216, 217-218 Grade 10-12 Advanced Students are provided skill development in desk top publishing and offset printing. GRA 207-208, 209-210, 211-212 Commercial Art I, II, III These courses provide students skill develelopment in layouts for visual communications media such as newspapers, packaging, business publications, and magazines.

COURSE DESCRIPTION Art 241-242 Photography I-II Grades 10-12 Introduction Prerequisite: None Offers students an introduction to 35mm black and white photography and portfolio presentation.
Art 243-244, 245-246 Photography III-VI Grades 11-12 Advance Prerequisite: Teacher Recommendation Offers students advance photographic experiences in 35mm black and white photography, digital photography, PhotoShop, and portfolio presentation.
Applied Design 271-276 Prerequisite: Teacher Recommendation Grades 9 -12 Offers students an oppurtunity to produce with desk top computers products such as advertisements, graphic designs and page designs for books, newspapers and magazines.
