How to Effectively Study for Tests
There are several simple but effective strategies that will help you memorize facts.
First, never just look passively over your material. Take an active approach to studying. Always use at least two modalities/ senses (vision, hearing/speaking, tactile/writing), the benefits are tremendous.
There is a list of modalities below with effective study strategies. Be sure your child uses at least one strategy from each modality every time they study.

Course Outline for 7th Grade Language Arts Teacher: Mr. Pascarella
Purpose/Goal
This class will focus on the development and maintenance of the basic reading, literature, grammar, and writing skills that reflect the Georgia’s Performance Standards . Also, the course will provide techniques and strategies that will enhance your child’s test taking skills.
Notebook
Each day your child will do activities related to specific standards. These activities should be placed in the appropriate sections of their notebook. Also, please check your child’s notebook regularly. Your effort will be greatly rewarded.

AR Test-taking Tips Use these tips to determine whether or not you are ready to take an AR test. If you cannot remember these details, your AR test will be a “wash”. 1. 2. Think of several important events (1 per chapter) that involved the main characters such as: how the characters behaved, felt, or thought during these events Keep it short! List these events in order on the back.

Highlight the topic sentence but not the (3) supporting detail sentences. (5points)
