Welcome!!
Hello and welcome to my web page. This is my fourth year at Greenbrier High School. I transferred here from another excellent Columbia County School - Lakeside High. I live in this community, and my oldest son graduated from Greenbrier in 2007. My youngest son is currently a sophomore here. Therefore, I am very enthusiatic about being here on a personal level as well as a professional level as an educator. I have always enjoyed healthcare education and have a background in various healthcare fields including intensive care, home health care, public health education, and health administration. This school year I am teaching 3 Intoduction to Healthcare Science classes & 1 Advanced Clinical Healthcare Science 2-hour block.
I am an RN with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the Medical College
of Georgia. My teaching certificate in Healthcare Science Education is from the University of Georgia, and I am currently working on a graduate degree in education with an emphasis in instruction and curriculum.
You may contact me @ 650-6040, ext. 4183, or e-mail suzanne.adams@ccboe.net.

What We're All About!!
There will always be a need for workers in the healthcare industry. Because we provide a service that cannot be replaced by automation or machinery, opportunities will always be available. HSTE courses are designed for students interested in exploration of more than 200+ health careers. Columbia County's HSTE program affords student certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Certified Nursing Assisting. These accomplishments are encouraged as a "stepping stone" for continuing post-secondary education in the healthcare field.
Another great affiliation for students interested in healthcare fields is HOSA, our medical organization. This organization, Health Occupations Students of America, is an excellent way to combine the promotion of healthcare careers and outstanding work ethics. Students have the opportunity to attend club day meetings, student medical leadership conferences, healthcare competitions, and many other informative activities through this organization. Every school year we have student winners at the state medical competitions. These winners receive an invitation to the National Competitions held in various places throughout the United States. Ask me for more information on club participation!
