Meet your teacher About me I am looking forward to another great year at Harlem High School. This will be my fifth year teaching English at HHS. I love HHS because we are a small, close-knit family, and we support each other as we strive for success. I look forward to having you in my class, exploring literature with you, and learning more about you. |

10th Grade Gifted and CP Language Arts Syllabus In 10th Grade Lit, we will read a variety of genres, looking at similar themes throughout literature. Much of our reading will come from our textbook, Literature and the Language Arts, as well as several other novels. Following the state standards, we will also practice and improve our grammar, writing, and vocabulary skills. The focus of 10th grade writing is persuasive writing; this will help prepare you for the GHSGWT. Gifted students are expected to exceed the requirements for college prep students. You will have many opportunities to work together and individually on projects that will help you explore literature on a deeper and more meaningful level. |

Harlem High School's Student Newspaper The student newspaper was revived in 2006 by Kendra Ziadeh as part of her senior project. An amazing group of talented students helped her produce three editions of The Dish. This year we will continue the tradition, publishing four editions (one per nine weeks period). If you would like to be a part of The Dish, come see me! |
