My Mission Statement: A mi, me encanta la cultura hispana, y quiero que todos mis alumnos conozcan a la gente, la cultura, y la lengua de otros.
I love the hispanic culture, and I want all of my students to know the people, the culture, and the language of others. I strongly believe the foreign language classroom presents a unique opportunity for students to become engaged and active in learning new cultures. Through my studies of Spanish and my experiences in Spain, I have gained an appreciation for the rich culture embedded in the language and hope to share this with my students.
In my classroom students will work cooperatively to become proficient in Spanish, mindful of the National Standards for Foreign Language Learning, in an environment where risks are taken and questions are asked. Respect will be crucial; for ourselves, for each other, and for the cultures we are exploring. Students will have a role in establishing the rules and a voice in their learning. Through a variety of activities, students with all learning styles will be supported.
