| What's Happening In the Classroom |
This is to inform you of the math proceedures and expectations of our class this year. It is my intent to reach all learners and help each to progress to his or her potential in math skills. The curriculum is based on the Georgia Performance Standards (GPS). A detailed listing of the standards can be found at www.georgiastandards.org/math.asp. Our textbook, is Holt and the students will be getting a password to log on at http://my.hrw.com. They are able to watch tutorials, have access the textbook, and find many more resources. Please use this tool. It is great! The textbook is not the only resource we will be using. Mountain math, games, and performance tasks will be used throughout the year.
General Routine:
Agenda: Each day, the agenda must be filled out with the homework assignment. If there is no assignment the student is to write none. Please check the agenda for the assignment of the day. I will also write notes to parents in the agenda.
Homework will be given as practice and should take no longer than 15-20 minutes.
