Grammar |
Each day students are asked to complete a DGP (Daily Grammar Practice). This is a grammar curriculum that reviews already learned concepts, teaches new concepts, and reinforces all grammar concepts each week. This curriculum was used in my classroom last year, and I feel that it was a large part of my students success not only in the classroom but with the CRCT. Different grammar objectives are taught each day of the week, and the same objectives are taught on the same day of each week using different sentences.
Mondays: Capitalization and Punctuation
Tuesdays: Parts of Speech
Wednesdays: Subjects, Predicates, and Phrases
Thursdays: Clauses, Sentence Types, and Sentence Purpose
Fridays: Sentence Diagramming

Computer Lab and Media Center |
We will visit the computer lab often to conduct research and to practice our online CRCT testing skills . Students will be required to pass each section of the online test with an 80 or better before moving on.
We will visit the media center every Monday to check-out novels. Students are required to have a novel in the classroom daily. They will also be required to fill out a daily reading log that will be handed in every Monday at the beginning of class. |
