Introduction to Economics
|
| Course Information |
You could be doing somethiing else right now, you know. the fact that you are reading this page shows that you are thinking economically. You decided that visiting my website is the best use of your valuable time. I agree.
Economics is the most used and least understood discipline that high school students study. THINKING economically is a skill that must be LEARNED just like changing your oil or riding a bike. Economics also has its own language, so you have to approach the subject in some ways like a foreign language and learn the vocabulary. Learning economics requires WORK - lots of it.
Here's the good news: if you understand economics, you will learn to make better choices and potentially earn more money. Economics may be the only subject a student takes that can actually put money in his or her pocket.
Here's the bad news: this class has an end-of-course test(EOCT). Students may not exempt this class. The EOCT is a state-administered final exam. EVERY economics student in the state will take the same test under the same conditions. For parents and students this means that you are competing against every economics student, not only in the county, but also in the state. My goal is to make Harlem's economics program the best in the county. I hope you will work with me towards achieving this goal. Please feel free to explore and enjoy the rest of this website. |
