8th Graders to Learn more about Careers |

Have a Great Summer! The GTMS Business Lab is fortunate to have even more software to help students learn more computer and business skills.
The IC3 (Internet and Computing Core Curriculum) package is helping to teach and give quizzes on general hardware and software computer skills, plus knowledge of internet use and safety.

New CCBOE Curriculum is Stronger on Careers Years ago, the focus of 'keyboarding' classes was just to learn to touch type and to format letters and memos.
Today, students must know much more about a keyboard than just the arrangement of the keys.
GTMS eighth graders will spend more time learning about career choices and what types of skills are necessary for each career field.
Also, I will be continuing to work with the core teachers to help the students taking my classes prepare for their Eighth Grade Project presentations. |

Projects Mimic Real-World Uses for Software In the classroom, students complete different projects in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. In designing these assignments, Mr. Strickland tries to both keep them interesting and also make them similar to ways a business might use these software packages.
