Westy's World is the daily live broadcast produced and directed by the media center staff and fifth grade students. Students are selected to serve as anchors and technical staff for one half of a nine week period.

Two book fairs are held each year--in the fall and the spring. This year a Scholastic Book Fair will be held the week of Septmember 24-28. The hours of the fair are 8:45 a.m.-4:00 p.m. each day. Parents are invited to come at any time during the school day to view and purchase. There will be a Family Night Event Tuesday, Sept. 25 for all to come and shop the fair before and after the PTO meeting.

The Georgia Picture Book Award Nominees are read to kindergarten, first, and second grade students and voting is held in the spring.

The media center opens the AR Store for students at the end of each nine weeks so that students may shop with points earned during the nine weeks and/or year.

At the end of January, Starlab, the portable planetarium, arrives for a one week's viewing and is set up in the media center for students to view the night sky.

Children's Book Week in the fall and National Library Week in the spring are celebrated with special activities.
