The school nurse provides a multitude of services for Westmont students. If needed, the nurse will assess your child for illness, injury, and other health related problems. Hearing and vision screening is offered for 3rd grade, and vision screening is offered for 5th grade students. State immunization requirements are reveiwed for students entering Westmont for the first time to ensure that all students are adequately immunized. The nurse may dispense prescription and over the counter medications with parental consent. Should your child have special medical considerations the nurse may develp a Specilaized Heatlh Care Procedure Plan with the physician and the family to address medical issues at school. Student Health Information cards are kept in the nurse's office so that parents can be reached quickly if needed. Should there be a change of contact phone number or change in pertinent medical information, please inform the nurse. |
