This year, your child will develop and enhance many new skills in Language Arts, such as
* reading comprehension skills in the areas of sequencing, cause/effect, main idea, reading diagrams and illustrations, compare/contrast, fact/fiction, research, predicting, genre, story elements, and author's purpose.
* independent reading skills with Reading Renaissance (AR) using individual goals and incentives.
* English skills by integrating the ares of capitalization, punctuation, sentence structure, and grammar into story writing, letter writing, etc.
* spelling skills by using word families, phonics, sight words, etc. |

In Math, your child will develop and enhance…
* problem solving, addition, subtraction, place value, regrouping, money, time, geometry, measurement, fractions, data analysis and probability, graphs, multiplication, and division. |
