Employee New Hire and Referral Incentives

 
Eligible school district employees can earn up to $500 for referring a candidate who is hired now through April 23, 2022. New employees hired during this time can also earn $1,000.

The Columbia County School District is pleased to announce several pay incentive items for employees and potential employees.

Eligible school district employees can earn up to $500 for referring a candidate who is hired between December 14, 2022 – April 28, 2023. Eligible employees include any who do not perform supervisory evaluations or serve in a hiring capacity.

New employees who sign with the school district between December 14, 2022 – April 28, 2023, can earn up to $1,000. New employees will receive the first $500 in the pay period after 60 days of employment, and the remaining $500 at the end of the fiscal year.

In addition, employees can now receive $250 per semester for perfect attendance.

Qualifying employees for the referral incentive are employees that are benefit eligible*. Personnel not eligible are Human Resources personnel, School Administrators, and District Administrators.

Referral incentives will be paid in two payments. The first payment of $250 will be received the first pay period after the hired referred employee works 90 days. The second payment of the referral incentive will be received at the end of the school year (June/July pay period), as long as the referred employee is still employed with the district.

There is NO cap on the number of employee referrals a benefit-eligible employee can make.

Applicants MUST place the benefit-eligible employee’s name on the application as the employee who referred them to the district. The school district will use the application and the submitted employee referral form to verify the eligibility of the referral incentive.

*A benefits-eligible employee is a full-time, regular employee (not a substitute) who works a minimum of 30 hours a week for most CCSD positions or 20 hours per week in certain roles.

Submit an Employee Referral Form through your Etrieve account. The form is located under the Form section in Etrieve Central.

Complete the Employee Referral Google form. The link for this form is located on the Columbia County School District website (www.ccboe.net). The link will also be sent to all qualifying employees’ CCBOE email with the incentive announcement.

Reminders:

  • Make sure a new Employee Referral form is submitted for each referral.
  • Make sure the person that is being referred lists the employee who referred him/her on the employment application.

On your application, there is a section where you can submit the name of the CCBOE employee that referred you to the district.

On the New Hire Recommendation Acknowledgement Form (sent to you during processing), there is a section to type in the name of the school district employee who referred you.

Qualifying employees for the $1,000 sign-on incentive are employees that are benefits eligible*. Personnel not eligible are employees who separated from the school district within 90 days of December 14, 2022, and employees placed on the administrative pay schedule.

Sign-on incentives will be paid in two payments. The first payment of $500 will be received the first pay period after working 60 days. The second payment will be received at the end of the school year (June/July pay period).
