Divisions

Division of Business and Finance oversees accounting, budget and district finances, grants, internal audits, employee payroll, procurement, and school nutrition services.  
 
 
 
The Office of Technology and Information Services encompasses Instructional Technology, Student Information, Business Information, Field Support, network and security services, data Communications, and Technology Logistics.  Services coordinated by the staff also include the creation of user network login IDs; evaluation, purchase, and installation/configuration of technology hardware and software; repair and maintenance of existing technologies; daily technology support to schools and support offices; secured connectivity to Internet resources; management of CCSD's phone system; technology-based professional development for staff; instructional support to students; and oversight of CCSD data, to include moderation of requests for public record.
 
 
 

School Safety includes the state-certified CCSD School Police Department and Emergency Management Operations. The CCSD Police Department assigns POST-certified officers to each school, provides proactive planning and training for school-based staff,  provides parent/community safety education programs, facilitates background checks on employees and volunteers, and conducts criminal and administrative investigations.

 

The Department of Human Resources includes oversight of staffing, risk management and benefits, and certification/compensation.  This department oversees the hiring of new personnel, professional development, new employee orientation, compensation, experience/employment verification, risk management/worker’s comp, retirement programs, substitute teacher scheduling system, and administration of health insurance and other benefits. This department also oversees attendance area planning and student enrollment projections.   

 

The Division of Curriculum, Assessment and Instruction includes Curriculum and Academic Standards, School Improvement, Assessment, Special Education Services and Professional Development.  This division oversees K-12 instructional resources, student performance standards, federal and state programs and initiatives, Federal Programs, Pre-K, ESOL, Response To Intervention, School Psychology, School Social Work, gifted instruction, and virtual learning.

 

The Division of Student Support includes Facility Maintenance and Operations, Planning/Compliance and Warehouse Operations. This division oversees the 10-year Building Program as well as the construction and renovation of all new and existing facilities; maintenance and physical operations for over 4 million square feet of facilities. This Division also oversees the Office of School Operations and student support services, including the daily operation of transportation, school nurses and athletics and extra-curricular activities, student discipline and tribunals, truancy, school reassignments and services for homeless students.  

The Division of School Improvement is responsible for coordinating all aspects of academic achievement. This team monitors individual and whole-school data to implement effective, research-driven methods that guide schools in setting and meeting their improvement goals. This team also provides professional learning supports that help mold principals into effective instructional leaders. They oversee the New Principal Induction Program, school improvement processes and ensure maintenance of school improvement plans. Through the management of school data, the School Improvement team guides school leadership in research-driven decision-making designed to improve student achievement and success through shared accountability.
