School Closures & Dismissal Times

The Columbia County School District works closely with local and state emergency management officials to monitor anticipated inclement weather in our area and any potential impact on the safety of students and staff. In the event inclement weather causes full-day cancellations, early dismissal, or instruction being moved to a digital platform, the public will be notified via the district call messaging system, via email, school websites, social media platforms as well as local news media stations.

 

School closings are not determined at the local school level. Unless announced otherwise, schools will remain open. To the extent possible, public announcements regarding full-day cancellations will be made by 6:00 a.m. the day of the closure.
