Benefits

The Columbia County Board of Education offers the following benefits:   medical, dental, vision, term and permanent life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, critical illness, state retirement, annuity and tax-sheltered plans. 

IMPORTANT:  Some insurance benefits not selected at time of hire can only be added or changed during the open enrollment period.  Open enrollment occurs  in October through the middle of November.

Section 125 Cafeteria Benefit Plan

 

 

The Section 125 Cafeteria Plan provides for all benefit payroll deductions (except short term disability) to be exempt from federal, state and FICA taxes, thereby providing participating employees with additional take home pay.  All employees will be automatically enrolled unless the employee completes the "Election Not To Participate in the Cafeteria Plan" form.

Long Term Care

The Columbia County School System is pleased to announce a new voluntary insurance program in conjunction with PAGE.  PAGE members and their extended families are entitled to participate in a special discounted program for Long Term Care (LTC) insurance.  For more information, please contact Tommy Norris, CLTC (certified in Long Term Care) at
