Grovetown High graduate spends spring break giving back to community

Marcus paid a special visit to Baker Place Elementary, Grovetown Elementary, and North Harlem Elementary, this week where he spent time reading, speaking and visiting with students. He even participated in a small arts and crafts project with pre-k students. Marcus also gave the students advice on how to be a leader on and off the football field and the importance of getting good grades in school to be successful in life.

About Marcus Washington Jr.: During his senior season at Grovetown High, Marcus led the Warriors defense with 48 tackles, one sack and two fumble recoveries.  Marcus was ranked as the No. 12 cornerback prospect nationally, No. 6 prospect in Georgia and the No. 91 prospect nationally.  Marcus was considered a four-star prospect and signed with the Bulldogs where his father played linebacker from 2005-2009. Marcus is a member of the National Championship Georgia Bulldogs. He returns to Athens next week to begin training for the next football season.

The Columbia County School District extends sincere wishes to Marcus for his continued success on and off the football field.
