The Promise of CCSD is a campaign that celebrates the potential within our students, the impact of public education, and the dedication of the teachers, staff, and families who make success possible. In September, the Columbia County School District focuses on our purpose… our students. This month, our Promise campaign encompasses the promises the school district makes toward its vision to engage, enrich, and inspire our students and seeks to unlock the promise within each of us. In the Columbia County School District, we believe that each student holds great promise, and every day, our schools work to bring that promise to life.

Students, staff, alumni, families, community members, and local leaders gathered to celebrate the completion of Lakeside High School's multi-year renovation and modernization project with a special ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, September 3, 2026.

The Columbia County Board of Education approved the 2026 digest rollback millage rate of 14.997 mills. This decision marks the sixth consecutive year the Board has reduced the millage rate, and the second year in a row it has adopted the rollback rate.
