I'm Steve Flint superintendent of Columbia County School District as we look to roll out a new school year were very excited also roll out a new strategic plan that will guide us for the next five years it's supported by an updated vision and Mission it's going to help us determine what are we going to focus on what are areas of need and what can we mow do to help our students each and every day the main focus of our strategic plan is our most important business and that's going to be student achievement really takes on a very individual meaning for each student in this area we will be providing teachers with Rich content-based professional learning this will enable them to the even better prepared for your students when they enter the classroom each year we also will be developing and designing throughout the year a curriculum that is specific to the needs of each individual child we want to inspire each student in Tuolumne County Schools we want events to have the skills and knowledge that they need to become whatever it is they desire that will help us maximize the Student Success and with the Strategic plan there are a lot of opportunities for the school district to support the community we're so fortunate have not only parents involved in our schools but also the Greater Community through this strategic plan we're going to continue to look at ways to enhance those efforts and opportunities for our partners in education future of Economic Development in our area in Columbia County really depends on the 21st century Workforce it we're working together on a daily basis to build our children are our future we want to make sure that we are setting them up to be successful with her right here at home in Columbia County or wherever they choose the next goal area is to provide a consistent and support of culture this primary objective of this goal is to ensure that every student has a safe and supportive learning environment we can improve safety by making it a priority by Bill relationship with students and given them a voice by leveraging technology to our advantage but communicating with parents and washer and that we have a safe learning environment for each student will continue to grind we need to ensure that we nurturing relationships with all of our stakeholders we want to improve our relationships with students with staff and with our parents as we work together to meet the needs of Austin facilities and operational excellence will allow how to focus on standardizing our processes across the board our goal is to provide the students the faculty and the staff with all of the tools that are required for them to perform their job on a hundred percent of changed and so our goals and our strategies have to change along with them to school on time and ready to learn it provides us a framework both monetarily and from a technical perspective why do digital resources for our students in and allow for that that individualized learning that everybody's expecting what we intend to do to seek to recruit the best qualified of the most qualified applicants for bacon missions in all Talent categories and of course we want to retain them and that's a that's a big deal retaining top talent within your organization is key to the success of of any organization the role the professional development will play in all of categories of personnel it is key recruit a lot of folks that their job becoming a teacher the first job that they ever had so it is our job to coach him up to get him trained on how we do things within the district and within the first and so that's just not with our teachers that's with every Personnel category that we have going to work together with our students staff parents and Community page for us to grow as a district in to afford our students every opportunity possible to maximize their success here in Columbia County and once they graduate having a strategic plan in place house for us to have a shared Vision with our teachers are students and our communities where we can begin with the end in mind knowing where we're trying to go and establishing the right steps to get there it is our Direction hit Drive everything that we do is that our goals and helped us articulate together what we are going to do to ensure that we are the best in the nation we are so excited to have hundreds of teachers and parents and student ask build this plan from the ground up it's something we're going to work at every day we're going to work together to make this school district lead the nation in occasionally X1 division of the Volusia County School District
